Lynn loves 30's fabrics. And paper-piecing. I decided to combine the two for a little birthday surprise.
She also likes pink, and I just happened to have a few scraps from an apron I was commissioned to sew for an adorable little girl several years ago. I had just enough to bind this little quilt.
My first-ever label. Paula would be appalled to hear that, and I vow to get better at placing them on from here on out.
These little projects are helping me to perfect my hand stitching. I daresay, I see a great improvement since last fall when I finished Abigail's quilt.
Lynn has watched me work on a few mug rugs over the past several months, and commented how much she liked them, but somehow I knew that she'd never place a coffee cup on this little quilt, and so I gave her a little hanger to hang it up, just in case. I think it's good that I did.
That is very cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet gift for your friend.

This is so cute, Tracy! And I think that a hanger is a must. I can't imagine getting coffee on that little quilt!
ReplyDeleteso pretty! I'm working on my stitching in little projects right now too.
ReplyDeleteHow did you make your label? (I'm terrible with labels too. . . )
