After seeing this idea on Pinterest, I knew I had to try it. Yesterday we had a light meal of rice and roasted vegetables, and then I pulled out the waffle iron.
I used a Duncan Hines Devil's Food cake mix, and prepared it according to the box. Simply ladle the batter into your waffle iron, and let cook. Cool waffles on rack, and when you have enough to serve your crowd, top with your favorite ice cream and fruit.
Sundaes on Sunday!

I make my own waffle mix but I never would have thought of using a cake mix for waffles. Might try it some time. Susan Penless Writer
What a smart thing to do by using the cake mix for the waffles...this dessert looks sooooooo yummy!
Very calories too!!
That would be so much easier than the chocolate waffle recipe I used to use. I'll bet it tastes even better too. I've seen the title of this post all day and have not opened it on purpose....now I am going to go find something sweet...lol. That is exactly what I was afraid of.
I have a random chocolate cake mix and NO waffle iron. I might be borrowing one - this is a great idea!
