Lazing About
Surgery and recovery have been just about as hard on me as they were for Verne, minus the pain, of course. I find myself sleeping very lightly, aware of his every position, and making sure he isn't letting his arm drop below his heart.
Our days have been slow, which is a good thing. He has set up camp (meaning his work computer) in the sewing room to be near me, and the two youngest children reside there for their school work as well. We talk, and snack, and drink lots of coffee, and Chester is happy to have all of us gathered in the same place. I think he's missing Daisy about as much as I am.

I agree, surgery is hard on the caretakers, too! My hubby had elbow surgery this week, and I'm exhausted. I hope Verne heals up quickly!
It is good that you have extra time together....it is too bad that the accident, surgery and pain are the reason.
Praying for relief!
Bless your heart with missing Daisy. It is so hard....
Thanks, Amanda! I hope that your hubby heals quickly, too!
I'm sure you all appreciate the relaxing nature of homeschooling which allows you to spend the time together! :)
I've been thinking about that tablecloth you use to plan out your quilts as I will soon have a room to call my own and place my sewing things in and I hope to have one of them on my wall! :)
Yeah, yeah, Verne Smerne! LOL The Quilt Blocks look fabulous!!! :-D Hope he is continuing to improve!!
Blessings,
Mary Lou
That is fun that you are all hanging out together. We did that in our living room when Tim was recovering from her hip surgery. He camped out in the recliner for 6 weeks - even for sleeping.
Glad that he is recovering, sorry about the lack of sleep.
Love you all...
Deanna
Praying for a speedy recovery & rest for all! Being around my family has been THE best thing for my recovery- I do not rest at all when I'm forced to be away from them!
