Greener Pastures

We moved the chicken coop across the yard over the weekend, and the poor dears had to be cooped up all day Saturday and Sunday. This morning when they were finally let back out, they literally came flying out the door.

I'm glad this morning's snow didn't last too long and they were able to enjoy the fresh green grass.

They sure are beautiful. How much are your eggs?

Great action shot! Our chickens are going nuts all caged up. We have a raccoon that needs to be taken care of before we let them out... poor things.

Whoo-hooo! Green grass for the chickens! They will like all the bugs, and stuff too! Our Lottie ranges around the yard all day long, such a happy chicken.

I am working on finding a local source for pullets. We have decided to go that route rather than chicks, for now. Maybe once we have a bigger flock, we can do chicks.

Love your coop and your chickens!

I am enjoying my spring break time (I am a teacher) by catching up on blogs I enjoy reading, and saw your daughter's post about your blog being back. So glad you are blogging again.. it has been nice to go back through the entries and see all the work you have done this year gardening and cooking and home dec wise... but also nice to have your spiritual inspiration again. What a treat!

Paula,
The eggs are $3 per dozen. Let me know if you want me to bring you some.
