French Toast

I like mine with homemade bread, our own fresh eggs, and a sprinkling of sugar. Have you ever tried it this way?  It's yummy! And comparatively, it has far fewer calories than using syrup. Though it looks like a lot above, there's only a bit more than one teaspoon sprinkled over the two pieces of bread. That's about 20 calories. Not bad!

Yum! I like sugar instead of syrup on my pancakes and waffles! :)

I usually put a bit of sugar and cinnamon in with the eggs and milk so it also tastes delicious with nothing on top. I'm not a big fan of bread soaked in syrup. It looks delicious, Tracy!

Hmmm...I was thinking of making french toast this morning. I have some wonderful cinnamon bread that I could use.

I tried something different for Christmas breakfast this year. My mom had made some cinnamon rolls that flopped (she forgot to let them raise the second time.) I had them in the freezer, and decided to use them in a baked French Toast casserole. It was delicious! The brown sugar and butter on the bottom made a light syrup that was perfect. I definitely like the cinnamon with mine.

I like to add vanilla and cinnamon to the eggs and then syrup on top......
Cracker Barrel has a French Toast special right now....Delicious either way.

since I found oven-baked French toast, I haven't fried any on the stove. It's so much prettier your way, though.

I have done french toast on the bbq whilst we've been away camping ~ so much quicker than many batches in a pan!!!

I like mine with maple syrup. Two of the kids like it with sugar. Dh & Miss Sunshine like it with tomato sauce (ketchup). That's how Dh & I both grew up having it served. I don't like sauce!!!!
