I can't believe it only took me two weeks from start to finish, and if you knew my track record on most projects, you'd be very impressed. The above photo is my Trip Around the World quilt, minus the borders.
And here it is with the borders. Today it went to the quilt shop where it will be quilted with love by Paula.
I love the colors, and the pattern. I don't love that it's square. Beds just aren't square, and the quilt fits the bed a bit differently than I envisioned. If I were to make the pattern again, I think I'd leave off the last two rows of the "trip". It wouldn't be quite complete, but ti would fit the top of the bed better. I added large borders because we have one of those hard to fit, really thick, queen mattresses. You know, the kind that make every quilt, comforter, and bedspread seem like it was made too small? I'm hoping that perhaps I can take up the extra length by making the bed as if I were using a bedspread, and still using a bedskirt.
After Paula quilts it, I'll still need to bind it. I can't wait until we can actually use it!

What pretty colors! Nice job, Tracy.
Wow, that's gorgeous Tracy! It looks just fine... don't worry about the square shape of the bed because it doesn't affect the wonderful appearance of this lovely quilt! It looks so homey and inviting... Well done!
The colors are gorgeous. You did a great job, Tracy!

And the colors are also perfect for the holidays!
Tracy,
That is so beautiful! I can't wait to finish mine now, but I know for sure it will be longer than 2 weeks. Enjoy on those cold evenings!
Blessings,
Michelle
