When the college boy came home for summer, he was a bit disheartened to find the cupboards empty of his personal favorite, cherry jam. Cherries aren't in season here just yet, but I did find a good sale at the grocery store this week and bought enough to make him a batch to hold him over. And then I baked two loaves of fresh bread.

You are such a sweet Mother. Whipping up a batch of cherry jam like that.
Hugs,

Love homemade jam!
The fresh baked bread with jam sounds divine to me right now!
Cherries were on sale at our grocery too, though not at a price I was willing to pay ;-)
I usually buy frozen sour cherries at the Mennonite bulk foods store for jam, since I eat all the fresh ones to fast!
I never buy cherries as my husband is deathly allergic to them but this jam sounds delcious and your photos are wonderful, as usual :o)
You are a good mom! :)
What a sweet thing to do for your son. I'm sure he'll be so thankful.
I can't to get busy canning fruits and veggies! Strawberries should be ready soon and I hope to find a place to pick them for a reasonable price. We left all our strawberry plants behind when we moved last fall and we don't have a place ready yet to plant more. Maybe we'll be able to next summer.
