Too Long, Too Gone

So sorry to have disappeared on you like that. It wasn't intentional, I just... I really can't say. Got busy with life? Started questioning why I blog? In any case, judging from some emails that I received, people were beginning to worry. No need. I'm here, and we're all well. Mostly.

Mostly because a few weeks ago my left shin started hurting. Badly. I have a high pain tolerance but this was enough to get myself to a doctor ASAP. And, I got sidelined from running until further notice. Boo hiss. My spirits have been down since. It was thought that I had a stress fracture, but after two sets of X-rays, an MRI, and a visit to the ortho on top of my family doctor, they don't think it was quite that bad. I can resume running SOON. Yippee!

Meanwhile, the past several months have been filled with holidays and baking. I've been creating almost daily whether it's quilting or general sewing, or baking or what have you. My fingers have been busy, and I love it.

I've completed several quilt tops, and I'm working on more. Love!

And, um, see that 4th photo from the bottom? The Father/Daughter Valentine dance. Yeah, when did my youngest child turn into a gorgeous young woman? I must have blinked.

I promise to do my best to get back soon! xo

  4. It's good to hear from you again on this media. Just so you know, I've been checking in every.single.day. Your blog is that important, and I still miss unlessthelord, which brought us together in first place. I understand that everything needs a break every now and then, but you should know many of us have missed your writings. Beautiful pictures! Beautiful you!

  6. Paula, I did make the little purses. They're a little bigger than a coin purse, but are great for carrying lipsticks and other feminine essentials. ;-)

  8. I agree! Too long! I have long been wondering why your blog has been so silent. Glad it was just you living life and being productive (SO productive!) and creative and happy.

You look wonderful- your family looks wonderful. Abigail looks wonderful and all your projects look wonderful!

I am especially jealous about the quilt tops! I think I *might* just tackle a quilt top this year and then maybe send it along to an Amish neighbor to quilt? That would be cheating, I realize, but I don't have a fancy machine and am not the hand-quilting kind of girl.

Glad to hear from you! I hope we do again soon! I so enjoy visiting you here.

  9. Missed you too! Sometimes a blogging break is good... and no worries, you're loyal "fans" will still be here when you do choose to blog :)... although, if you take too long, yeah, we might worry just a bit (but that is not your fault).
Love all your projects! And yes, you do have a BEAUTIFUL daughter(s)!!!!

  10. Rebecca, sending your quilt top to someone else to be quilted is most certainly NOT cheating.

  11. So good to see you back. I hear you on the reevaluation on blogging. But, I keep coming back. Glad you are here for now anyway.

I looked at that photo and had to do a double take. Really, Abigail? Wow. She has grown up and is so lovely.

  12. oh, so nice to hear from you again in blogland, Tracy!! (I've been questioning blogging recently, too - still blogging at this juncture, though).

Sorry to hear about your shin. I adore those little pocket-purse things - I'd love to see more of those :)
