A Walk in the Woods
Crisp mornings, a blazing fire, hands wrapped around a warm coffee mug. These are the things of autumn. Cakes that smell like Christmas, evenings spent under quilts, snuggling close in bed. Yes, these things, too. Such a happy season!
Totally unrelated to the above thoughts, Abigail and I are two peas in a pod. Not exactly alike by any means, but our personalities compliment each other well, and where you can find one of us you'll generally find the other. Sometimes we're very chatty. Sometimes we're more quiet, but enjoy the presence of the other in the room. On a recent walk, we discussed our dream locations to live. Near the sea? a meadow? the woods? perhaps the mountains? the desert? My dream location? A comfy cottage- not too big, but not too little- nestled up close to a woods in the back. I want shade if I need it, but I also crave some sunshine, so the front should overlook a meadow, and there should be mountains. Yes. I'd like to be nestled in the foothills, looking out to the mountains. With wildflowers growing freely. sounds lovely, to me. I love walks through the woods. There's so much to notice.
How about you? Where would you love to live?

My dream location... probably backed up to a remote beach (one that is not heavily populated). I love the sand, the waves, the wind, the sunshine, the smell of the salt air....
and a house that is neither too big nor small for our family.
Berlin - is that too shocking?
Mmm... a little house nestled on the side of a hill, with a view of a lovely green valley from my windows... oh, but wait. That's where we live already. Aren't I lucky. :o))
these photos are beautiful!
I would be hard pressed to choose between an East Coast beach with all 4 seasons and the salt air and seafood, and a mountaintop with a gorgeous view - a few meadows, some woods nearby, but A VIEW is paramount.
I used to think my dream location would be in England! But I do love a home in the woods as well....anywhere there are delightful fireplaces and my dear family.
