Apple Cider, without Borders

Back home from the quilt retreat just a bit disillusioned with my accomplishments. I had a list of things I wanted to do: finish my Sunbonnet Sue for the raffle, finish my mystery quilt, make a Linus quilt top, and work on Farmer's wife. It seemed reasonable, but I overestimated my ability to work quickly. Too much food, too much talking, too much Bingo ( buy Hey!, I won!), too many seams to rip out. Sigh.

I'm not disillusioned with this quilt top, however. This is the moment I've been waiting for since February! Just a few weeks ago, I worried over my choice of fabrics since they were far from the darker Civil War fabrics most everyone else used. Mine are cheery 30's prints, and are quite busy. Would the pattern emerge? This quilt has been a ton of work, and I feared the worst. I needn't have feared. It's perfect! The colors, not the seams. ahem. ;-) Now to add the borders!

It is beautiful!
You should be so proud of all of it!
What color will the border be?

Way to win at bingo.
Sounds like a wonderful retreat.

The border will be a green print, with black star points emerging into it. Can you see the black stars in the top? Notice how they stop abruptly without finishing at the edges? They will finish in the border!

It's stunning, Tracy. So beautiful...the border sounds awesome, too.

Glad you had a great time, and won Bingo! What did you win, by the way?

Love
Deanna

Quarters! Each card that you played was $.25, and the winner of the game won the pot. I won four times, and came out about $27 ahead!

It is a work of art! I believe that the love and joy of quilting is infused into every quilt we make and this one certainly proves that to be true. blessings, marlene
