Collin spent the majority of the evening on the porch trying to capture the lightening with his camera, and came away fairly happy with the results. I'm happy that the garden got a bit of a drink, too.

We had big storms and rain here Monday (some places around us got 3 inches in an hour!) and my garden *exploded* afterward. Unfortunately, so did the weeds >:-[

great job Collin! I'd love it if he would share his settings because...well, I am embarrassed to tell you how long I have tried (and failed) at lightning photography! :-)
And as for the strawberries? You are right! I can't believe it! AMAZING. Mutant strawberries! SOooooooo jealous! Curious.......did you have any slug/bird/pest problems and if so, what did you do? I have a serious problem with that EVERY year and would love some insight.
(And yes, I used bird netting.)
Rebecca, Collin reports that he lowered the F-stop as far as it would go, and used the bulb setting with his remote.
As to problems in the strawberry patch, we had none. I didn't even use bird netting! Perhaps because they were crowded, and the berries weren't well exposed, I don't know. The only thing we had, and BOY was it ever gross was an elegant stinkhorn, and ewwww! I hope to never see that again!
