A Season of Advent

Both Monday and Tuesday the rain poured fiercely never letting up for even a minute. As I watched the puddles in our yard growing ever deeper and wider I wondered if we may need an ark. And them I remembered His promise. No ark would be necessary.

This morning as I opened the bedroom shade, I was greeted with brightness and softly falling snow. Somewhere in the night, almost as if on cue, the rain had changed to snow to welcome December.

It was our first snowfall of the season. Though it didn't last long, it left a thin blanket of beauty covering the mud from the days prior.

And somehow, it reminded me not only of December, but another coming as well. We're counting down the days with our Jesse Tree.

We're anticipating the birth of Him who came to make the world brand new.

Oh, Tracy, your words and pictures put me in mind of the poem "Christmas Day" by Hartley Coleridge.

Just a bit of it ~

So be it; for in truth 'tis ever so,
That when the winter of the soul is bare,
The seed of heaven at first begins to grow,
Peeping abroad in desert of despair.

Full many a floweret, good, and sweet, and fair,
Is kindly wrapp'd in coverlet of snow.

May your advent journey be full of the wonder of Him, my friend.
