Autumn made the pies this year, and Mac carved the turkey because Verne's wrist is injured from his accident.
And just like every other day, our big meal was in the evening. It was nice to be able to sleep in a bit, and to prepare things at a leisurely pace. I don't quite understand why holiday meals have to be served early in the day.
We counted our blessings, and all agreed that we are thankful for one another. I'm particularly happy that we don't only say it once a year.
God is good!

We had a wonderful time at Georgia's on Thanksgiving day. She had us go around and tell of Thanksgiving memories and things we are thankful for. It brought many laughs and happy memories.
For the first time ever, we had our dinner later in the day and I have to say that it was nice not to go nuts preparing everything. Stephen & I were even able to go hiking in the morning.

We do our meal traditionally around 2:00 pm. I guess my Mom and Grandma did it that way so that they only had to prepare food once that day, or something! I am always so full, I don't eat later in the evening anyway, although I may snack on chips and such if we are playing games!

we ate at 5pm and wanted to go for a walk then, but it was too rainy and damp. I too think it's odd to have holiday meals early in day (and usually during naptime!).
