One Thousand Gifts

I love long weekends when the family is gathered together. We're starting our homeschool year on Tuesday, and I'm thankful that we've had this time together to relax, and be refreshed before we get down to business.

Sometimes the days fly by so quickly that it's difficult to notice the blessings surrounding us, but they are there, just the same. Too many to count, actually. It's time to start noticing, and time for giving thanks in return.

I'm thankful for gifts 1-30:

♥ my husband; a hardworking, fun loving man, who makes me feel beautiful and special every day. He's taught me all about grace.

♥ little gifts presented in such a way that they are treasured in my heart

♥ kisses and hugs, no matter who is around

♥ hands on my waist every time he passes me by

♥ eyes that sparkle when they meet my own

♥ selflessness, demonstrated daily

♥ the gift of motherhood

♥ children who long to be near me, no matter if they are 11 or 19

♥ a son who calls everyday because he wants to, not because he has to

♥ heads leaning on my shoulder

♥ helpers at the farmers' market

♥ extra hands in the kitchen

♥ laughter around the table each meal

♥ fresh eggs in an assortment of gorgeous browns and blues

♥ funny chicken antics

♥ a red chicken coop, built especially for my enjoyment

♥ fresh peas straight from the plant

♥ late summer produce, fresh from the garden

♥ the last few tomatoes, still clinging to the vines

♥ colorful habaneros made into delectable jellies

♥ hearing God's word preached, and having it impressed on my heart

♥ good friends who put smiles on the faces of those whom I love

♥ new shoes that relieve tired, aching feet and legs

♥ in-laws willing to drive 500 miles for a much needed visit

♥ morning glories that bloom long past the morning

♥ new mercies every day

♥ long naps

♥ cooler temperatures

♥ the freedom to homeschool my children

♥ children who are eager to learn
